The film making process aims to act as an example of strong environmental and humanitarian ethics. To resonate these ethics the project uses little money, limiting consumption down to what is truly necessary. It practices resourceful techniques, uses sustainable travel, and believes in the Spirit of giving. It's about testing the possibilities within these key methods and values that can allow an ethical exchange of goods and services whilst maintaining a respect for mankind and our planet. This is how.
The project chooses to limit money useage wherever possible, this helps keep consumption low. Instead the project use’s second hand goods, and also trade’s and recycle items where-ever possible. When using money, we try our best to ensure ethical, organic and environmentally friendly purchases are made.
Modes of environmentally friendly and cost efficient transport are used. The main method is bicycle . Its low cost, and fun. Trains are also used to help close the larger distances. In the future other methods such as horseback, boats, and hot air balloons plan to be utilized.
It also believes, practices and depends upon volunteering, donating, and good will. For example, The journeyman volunteers with the communities they film. Usually spending a week at each place. Getting directly involved allows a better way to understand and convey community life. The project then gives the film for free to the communities. The communties in return give some where for the journeyman to sleep and food during the stay. This creates a circle of giving that allows a trade of resources, knowledge and skills.
The project tries it's best to uphold these practices, but it is a process of experimentation, the project embraces its mistakes and tries to keep an open mind, changing, adapting and learning how to get better at these practices.
"Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it.
