Chateau Brametourte

This beautiful Medieval Chateau is Set in 50 acres in the South of France and was originally built in the 9th century. Paul and Alison Ward undertook the massive project 3 years ago with the dream of transforming it into a sustainable Chateau. Volunteers have played a big part in the development of the project, sourced through an organization called HelpX, they give their time and skills in return for bed and board, which creates a unique and experience for both the host and the volunteers. Different sustainable techniques have also been employed in the building process, such as the use of green energy, organic restoration methods and the cultivating of permaculture and forest gardens.
